False advertising and commercial practices

Responsibility : Office de la protection du consommateur

The goal of merchants is to have consumers purchase from them. The means they employ to attract consumers are called "commercial practices".

The Consumer Protection Act prohibits commercial practices involving false or misleading representations, whether these are made by word or act, or through the omission of important facts.
