Vehicle records, which are held by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), are compiled over the years from data kept in the SAAQ's registration record. In addition to other information, a vehicle record contains descriptive data about the vehicle (brand, model, year, etc.). The kilometrage of a used vehicle must be reported when the vehicle is registered for the transfer of ownership.
