The merchant's profile is a data bank that you can consult for information concerning a merchant with whom you are thinking of doing business. You can find out whether :
the merchant has a permit from the Office de la protection des consommateurs (OPC) and, if so, the permit number and date of expiry
consumer complaints have been filed against the merchant and, if so, their number and nature, as well as the details of settlement
the merchant has been convicted, in the previous five years, under a law administered by the OPC and, if so, the date of the conviction(s), the legislative provision that was violated, and the amount of any fine(s) paid
