Telemarketing is a means for business firms to present their products and offer their services. To establish contact with potential customers, certain businesses frequently use the services of professional telephone salespersons or call centres that make unsolicited phone calls and send unsolicited faxes on their behalf. Telemarketing firms are nonetheless governed by the CRTC's rules, in particular with respect to the times when calls can be made.
